December - January
For many, watching our winter storms with the waves crashing on the cliffs and beaches can be a very exhilarating experience; however, the more adventurous enjoy surfing and ocean kayaking along our rugged coast line. Sooke is home to many very talented people and their talents are enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. Many incredible local artists and artisans have studios in our area and we also have an active performing arts group.

February - March
This is a great time to enjoy the tidal pools of sea garden at Botanical Beach as our tides are lower than normal. The Sea Lion Caves are well worth a visit as the sea lions are present in large numbers for mating season. Back at the farm, the sweet smell of the almond and peach trees in bloom and the exhilarating colours of the rhododendrons and azaleas are very relaxing.

April - May
Cherry and apple blossoms are breathtaking. Feed our baby goats, colourful chicks and ducklings and our resident peacocks. Flowers, flowers everywhere.

June - July
Cycling, hiking, swimming, whale watching, and a picnic lunch under the sweet cherry trees, surrounded by exotic blooms, raspberries and strawberries all organically grown.

August - September
An excellent time to go on an ocean sea tour, kayaking on glassy smooth water teaming with sea life. The salmon return to our local Ayum Creek and Sooke River while the whales migrate off our west coast. On the farm we are are almost overwhelmed by the abundance of apples and pears.

October - November
Nuts, squirrels, stellar jays, hiking , biking, fishing, visit glass makers, potters, weavers and much more.
